The problem

When the business grows, spreadsheets stop being enough.

Lilab steps in when the problem is too specific for an off-the-shelf product and too important to keep solving by hand.

  • Manual operations

Duplicated data, errors, slow approvals and little traceability.

  • Systems that slow you down

Critical platforms that work, but nobody wants to touch, or that no longer keep up with the business.

  • Scattered knowledge

Teams losing hours looking for information or answering the same questions over and over.

  • Stalled new products

Digital ideas that need design, technology and integrations to reach the market.

We don't start by asking what technology you need. We start by understanding how your business works and what it costs you today for the problem to continue.

What we do

We turn complex problems into systems that work.

A · STRATEGIC CUSTOM SOFTWARE

Transformation stories

Companies that transformed a meaningful part of their business.

These are not projects, systems or applications. They are organisations that changed how they operate, with Lilab as their technology partner.

  1. 01

    Factoring company

    Financial services · Chile

From depending on a vendor to becoming a leading fintech

    The challenge

The company depended entirely on third-party software to run its factoring business. Every improvement depended on the vendor, support was poor, and operations were becoming a bottleneck for growth. A single transaction could take up to four days. The business was growing, but the technology was no longer keeping up.

    The solution

Together with the client we designed and built their own factoring platform, fully adapted to how they work. It brings together client onboarding, transaction assessment, operational workflow and connections to government bodies, credit bureaus and financial institutions. It became the technological heart of the business.

    The result

Transactions that used to take up to four days are now resolved in about an hour, and volume scaled from around a thousand transactions a month to more than fourteen thousand in three years.

    • The company stopped depending on an external vendor.
    • The platform evolved into a commercial product for other companies in the sector.

  2. 02

    Pension fund administrator

Pensions · Peru · Regulated environment

From fourteen months estimated to three months delivered

    The challenge

A technology audit identified multiple vulnerabilities and obsolete components in a platform critical to the administrator’s investment operations. The internal team estimated that resolving every finding would take around fourteen months.

    The solution

We proposed tackling the modernisation with our AI Software Factory model, combining highly specialised engineers with artificial intelligence agents to accelerate the analysis, modernisation and validation of the code.

    The result

Every finding was resolved and shipped to production in roughly three months, holding to the quality and security standards a highly regulated environment demands.

    14 months3 months

    internal estimate versus actual delivery

    What matters most

Artificial intelligence did not replace the engineers. It multiplied their capacity to solve a complex problem in a fraction of the estimated time.

  3. 03

    Human resources services group

Business and financial services · Peru

A new fintech born out of a business opportunity

    The challenge

The group spotted a strategic opportunity: offering salary advances and payroll-deduction loans to thousands of employees. To do it, they needed to build from scratch the technology platform that would support the operation of a new financial company.

    The solution

We designed and built a complete fintech platform able to handle applications, business rules, assessment, disbursements, traceability and day-to-day operations. More than building a system, we helped build the technological heart of the new business.

    The result

The solution let them launch a new business unit on a platform designed to grow from day one. The success of the project gave rise to a new initiative with Lilab: an AI-powered performance review platform.

    What matters most

When technology creates real value, the relationship naturally evolves into new projects.

Let's talk about your process

Why Lilab

A technology partner, not an hours factory.

Business first.

Before designing a solution, we understand the process, the rules, the exceptions, the people and the cost of the problem.

For you: solutions that fit the real operation, not an assumption.

End-to-end accountability.

We can own analysis, experience, architecture, development, integrations, testing, deployment and handover.

For you: one party accountable for the result, not a list of vendors.

Evidence before promises.

When there is significant risk, we prove feasibility through prototypes, technical tests or measurable results.

Real case

An audit at a pension fund administrator estimated fourteen months to close every finding. We proposed an approach and then proved it: the findings were closed in production in three months.

Frequently asked questions

What companies ask us before we start.

If your question is not here, message us on WhatsApp or by email and we will answer you directly.

What exactly does Lilab do?

Lilab is a technology company based in Lima, Peru, that designs and builds software for companies across Latin America. We work on four fronts: strategic custom software, artificial intelligence agents and automation, digital products and platforms, and modernisation of existing systems. We take the project end to end: analysis, design, architecture, development, integrations, testing, deployment and handover to the client’s internal team. Today we have clients in Peru, Chile and Colombia.

When does custom software make more sense than an off-the-shelf product such as an ERP or SaaS?

Custom software makes sense when the process is a competitive advantage or has rules no market product covers without distorting the operation. If a SaaS solves 90% of the problem, the honest answer is to use the SaaS, and we will tell you so. We step in when the process is too specific for an off-the-shelf product and too critical to keep running on spreadsheets and email.

How much does a project cost and how long does it take?

Both depend on scope, integrations and how critical the operation is. We do not quote a figure before understanding the problem: first we deliver the Functional Understanding, a document that sets out context, current process, pain, scope and exclusions. Only once that scope is confirmed do we present a proposal with stages, deliverables, timelines and terms in writing. We work in iterations with partial, validatable deliveries, so you see usable functionality during the project and not only at close.

What is the Functional Understanding?

It is the document we deliver at the second step of our process, before anyone commits. It covers the business context, how the process works today, where the pain is, what is in scope, what is explicitly excluded and the open questions. Its purpose is for you to confirm we understood the problem correctly before anything is signed.

Does it integrate with the systems we already have, or do we have to replace them?

We design to coexist with what already exists. Integration is considered from the design stage, not patched in at the end. For modernisation we use gradual, staged migration so the operation never stops while the system evolves. The same applies to artificial intelligence: our agents connect to the systems you already use — ERP, CRM, document managers, databases — so they answer with real, verifiable information rather than generic output.

How do you handle information security?

Lilab holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification, the international standard for information security management, and we are members of the AWS Partner Network. In projects that translates into authentication and access control, data protection, audit and traceability as part of the design rather than an afterthought. We work regularly in regulated sectors such as pensions, banking and insurance.

Who owns the intellectual property of the software?

Intellectual property, support and exclusions are set out in writing in the proposal, before we start. It is part of what we call clear terms: we do not leave that point open or subject to interpretation.
